Yield Options

YA (Yield Adjustment): Applies when an individual yield falls below 60% of the applicable T-Yield.  The yield is replaced with 60% of the applicable T-yield in the database.

  • Must be elected by Sales Closing of the current crop year.

YE (Yield Exclusion): Years can be excluded from the APH database when RMA determines the county per planted acre yield for that crop year was at least 50% below the simple average per planted acre yield for that crop in the county for the previous 10 consecutive crop years.

  • Must be elected by Sales Closing of the current crop year.

  • Only years determined by RMA can be excluded from the database.

  • Insured can choose which years to exclude from the approved years.

TA (Trend Adjustment): Yields in APH Database are adjusted to reflect increases in yields through time in the county.  Past yields are adjusted to reflect what the yield might have been with current technology and farming practices.

  • Must be elected by Sales Closing of the current crop year.
